ABOUT ME

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington and have worked in the area of psychology/social services since 1994.  I attended the University of California, Santa Cruz where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.

I studied in Costa Rica for a year, attending La Universidad de Costa Rica, where I learned about Latino culture and became fluent in Spanish.  I spent my time studying psychology alongside Costa Rican students, increasing my awareness of cross-cultural perspectives in psychology as well as in society.

I have worked at local social service and mental health agencies aiding families with financial planning, working with children in the prevention of substance abuse, giving care to adolescents in residential treatment centers, and doing therapy.

I received a Master of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling from Seattle University after completing a clinical internship at Sound Mental Health, where I continued to work in the crisis department.  I started my private practice in 2002 and currently practice in lower Queen Anne, Seattle,
